Rumoured: The Nike Air Max 97 'Silver Bullet' Returning in 2022

We all could have guessed, but it sure is nice when the rumour mill kicks into gear! The Nike Air Max 97 ‘Silver Bullet’ is set to make a return and celebrate 25 years in 2022.

The legendary Christian Tresser design has reached cult status since it first hit the streets two and a half decades ago with its ‘Metallic Silver’ colourway and 3M tooling drumming up a fervent following in the years since its debut.

With design cues taken from the world of mountain bikes – not from super-fast trains, as its name may suggest – and the image of a water droplet radiating waves from a puddle, the ‘Silver Bullet’ embodies the futuristic dynamism that informed Tresser’s design.

While the beloved colourway has been seen on various releases in recent years, including the Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 II and AM97 Golf, we haven’t seen the original since it celebrated a platinum anniversary in 2017. Back then, it launched a serious AM97 revival.

In terms of a release date, nothing has been confirmed as yet, though whispers around the sneakersphere are suggesting an early 2022 drop. Keep your eyes peeled.
