Rocksmith Tokyo - Spring '08
Rocksmith was born late at night, 2002, in the insanity of the Tokyo club circuit. Founded by a true O.G. and pioneer of Hip-Hop in Japan, DJ Masterkey, Rocksmith began as a chant. It could be heard through his voice on the airwaves, on video shows and at major club venues throughout the country. In 2004, Masterkey and his label, The Life Entertainment, teamed up with veteran NYC / Tokyo-based design team Kilo International to put visuals and style to the music. Rocksmith is about hard work and hard play, the lifestyle of the performer and the ones they inspire.
Rocksmith Tokyo captures the attitude and nostalgia of the '90s house party. Drawing from iconic cover art, irreverent pop cultural references and the greatest moments from the DJ Booth to the dance floor, Rocksmith Tokyo speaks the global language of hip hop in a pop art palette. Their Spring ’08 collection takes us back to a time when Arsenio Hall ruled late night television, Big Pun took over the airwaves and Michael Jordan dunked his way to MVP year after year with back to back wins for the Chicago Balls. "Rocksmith Spring 2008 can be summed up in two words offered by LL COOL J "BIGGER and DEFFER". This Spring season is a mixtape of classic cuts and fashion forward design. The entire collection was created to command an entire section, yet strong enough to stand alone."
The first delivery ushers in another season of Rocksmith's unique take on mixed fabrications with the French terry/velour panel pieced RICH BOY HOODY. The KOOL HOODY aims for the stars with a discharge print while the shimmer of the gold metallic satin of the RAISING HELL BASEBALL JACKET brings the shine. The SLASH WINDBREAKER is back with the matching ELEKTRO TEE. In Delivery 2 they introduce the zip-off sleeve BOOMBOX WINDBREAKER showcasing directional cut & sew and attention to detail. The pieced paneled D-BLOCK HOODY is an instant classic flexing complex construction. The ALLANTE BARRACUDA jacket flosses clean prestige. "If you don't know, now you know," the Notorious BIG says it all for Delivery 2 tees taking it back to 90's favorites like "CROOKED I" malt liquor and Arsenio Hall.
