Riot Police Arrest Fans at Paris Nike Store Following France's World Cup Victory

It’s party time in France after their national football team secured a second FIFA World Cup with a 4-2 win over Croatia on Sunday. The celebrations have been loud and proud, but unfortunately, a few bad eggs have taken festivities too far at the Nike store on the famed Champs Elysee.

It’s been reported that close to 300 people were taken into custody across France following the team's win, with one particularly violent instance occurring at the aforementioned store. Fans had gathered to purchase a new France team jersey with two World Cup stars (the stars represent the number of times an international team has won the World Cup), but the release has now been pushed back following the crowd trouble.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of violence at a hyped drop, but French authorities are hoping things will mellow out by Tuesday’s general release date.
