Release Date: PUMA Stewie 1 ‘Quiet Fire’

Update September 13, 2022: Breanna ‘Stewie’ Stewart’s new signature sneaker, known as the Stewie 1, has an official release date! The debut ‘Quiet Fire’ colourway is set to release on the PUMA webstore on September 16. They’ll also be available to purchase at the PUMA NYC flagship store, DICK’S Sporting Goods and select retailers globally.

An accompanying range of apparel will also land in October, including a jacket, crewneck, pants and more.

The PUMA Hoops basketball division has announced star signing Breanna ‘Stewie’ Stewart’s new signature sneaker known as the Stewie 1. This is a significant moment as it’s the first new women’s signature basketball shoe in over 12 years.

Launched in this ‘Quiet Fire’ colourway and worn by Stewart at the WNBA All Star Weekend game this past weekend, the striking black and neon yellow combo literally highlights the Stewie 1’s slew of tech. The low-cut design features a predominately mesh upper with targeted ventilation and support, while PUMA NITRO Foam provides explosive cushioning. There’s a personal detail on the heel counter: two small ‘scars’ reference the Achilles surgeries Stewart underwent en route to achieving her impressive stat sheet, which includes multiple WNBA championships, NCAA titles, and an Olympic gold medal, among other achievements.

‘Working with PUMA to craft the first women’s signature basketball sneaker in the last 12 years was an honor,’ said Stewart. ‘I hope that this is the first in a legacy of signature sneakers to come for women athletes across all sports and serves as inspiration for all young people that this, along with any achievement, is possible.’

Stewart signed a multi-year deal with PUMA in 2021, bolstering the women’s component of their Hoops category. The Stewie 1 will be available later this year.
