Public School NYC Announce New Balance 327 'We Need Leaders' Colab

Public School NYC are changing sides. No, they’re not packing up and moving to New Jersey (that’s a Steinbrenner reference for anyone playing at home). Rather, they have collaborated with New Balance on the 327, following a string of Nike and Jordan Brand efforts over the past few years.

Revealed over a series of Instagram posts, the Public School NYC have revealed the official colab with NB on the darling 327 that’s been an industry favourite this year. It appears PSNY have stuck to a classic two-toned formula of suede and ripstop nylon for the 327’s upper, further opting for proven shades of dark navy for the majority colour. However, a bright injection of lime green on the oversized N branding, knobby outsole, and dipped aglets is an interesting switch-up. White laces and a pale grey heel counter also add more contrast.

PSNY further stamp their name on this colab with their ‘We Need Leaders’ motto screenprinted onto the medial panel beneath a flying NB logo, and a stylised WNL brand on the lateral heel counter and insole graphic.

As far as release details go, a hard date hasn’t been announced just yet, but PSNY are hinting some time next week – likely coinciding with the US election. Stay tuned for the drop.
