Prada Take ‘World’s Hottest Brand’ Crown From Gucci

Grab the popcorn and pull up a seat; the Lyst Index Q4 2022 results are in! There have been a lot of interesting changes this quarter, with Q4 also marking the most movement among its top 20 brands since the chart first began. Starting right at the top, Prada have taken out the top spot on the list, earning themselves the title of ‘World’s Hottest Brand’ for the first time ever. This number one spot sees Gucci moving down to number two, previously holding the top position in the last quarter.

Q4 results revealed that searches are up 37 per cent for Prada, with a number of changes the brand has undergone undoubtedly playing a part. Most recently, Prada named Charli D’Amelio the face of Prada Linea Rossa FW22, and they also appointed Andrea Guerra as the CEO of Prada Group. In product news, Prada launched their first fine jewellery collection made of recycled gold.

Back to the rankings front, coming in third is Moncler, one of the biggest advancements to note on the Q4 report, considering that they’ve jumped up 14 spots from their previous ranking at 17. In spots four and five, respectively, Miu Miu and Valentino have held strong in the upper crust. Nike also maintains a position on the index.

In terms of wider product, not a single sneaker made it into the roundup of Q4’s hottest products, but the only sneaker adjacent inclusion making it in was Salehe Bembury’s Crocs Pollex Clog. On a similar beat, UGG are also on the rise, stepping up into the top 20 in place 15. They’ve currently got 1.2 billion mentions on TikTok, and their $140 ultra mini boots have been sold out at retailers for three months.
