Pharrell and adidas’ HU NMD S1 RYAT Takes on a Wheaty Colour Scheme
Pharrell and adidas' Hu NMD S1 RYAT is a compelling conundrum. It's not quite a sneaker, but it's not really a boot. It bears the NMD name, but has next to nothing in common with Skateboard P's past Hu NMD releases – and the only thing that's particularly NMD about it at all is its borrowing of the midsole from the NMD S1. The RYAT is hard to put your finger – or your foot – on, but after it first popped up in an all-black colourway last week it's now familiarising itself with a wheat style that was recently revealed by @yankeekicks.
Seeming to lean into its boot background, this just-revealed pair supplies hearty wheat/tan shades of suede and leather atop its wolf grey mesh upper, a combo that seems almost Yeezy boot-esque. Neon orange and yellow hues get into the mix as well, with the former appearing on the back of the heel, the rear eyestay anchor and the tongue's Humanrace branding while the latter graces the front of the midsole and the forefoot eyestays. Down below, semi-translucent rubber detailing on the midsole and toe cap plus toothy black outsoles with an adidas Originals-inspired traction pattern round off the look.
At the time of writing, we've yet to receive any sort of official info on the Pharrell x adidas HU NMD S1 Ryat's release, its inspiration or its price. However, an announcement is likely right around the corner with all these leaks popping up! Keep it locked here for more info as soon as it's made available.
