Nike Hook the Oregon Ducks Football Team Up with Vaporposite 'Galaxy' Cleats!
Ranked 10th in college football polls, the mighty Oregon Ducks football team is headed to Las Vegas this weekend to take on the Utah Utes for the Pac-12 championship. Thanks to Nike, they'll have some special cleats on their feet for the big game – namely the Vaporposite 'Galaxy', a football-ified take on the legendary Air Foamposite One 'Galaxy' from 2012.
Released as part of the 'Big Bang' pack for NBA All-Star Weekend 2012, the 'Galaxy' is largely considered the shoe that kicked off the modern-day resell craze. These Oregon cleats probably won't cause that much of a frenzy (they won't be available to the general public, after all) but they do provide an appealing blend of looks and performance. The moulded Foamposite upper adds a healthy dose of Ducks green to the 'Galaxy" print for an aurora borealis-inspired look, and surrounds a sock-like knit base with a large Oregon logo on its tongue. Down below, iridescent spikes complete the look.
You won't be able to cop these cleats for yourself unless you've got a pretty amazing plug, but you will be able to catch 'em in action on December 3 when the Ducks battle the Utes at Las Vegas' palatial Allegiant Stadium.
