While its return has been on the cards for a while now, official pics have now arrived for the upcoming retro of the Nike Air Huarache ‘Scream Green’. This year shapes as a big one for the Huarache, as the silhouette notches its 30th birthday – and we all know Beaverton love a birthday celebration!
The ‘Scream Green’ is arguably one of the Huarache’s most beloved colourways, packing the kind of retro vibes that match the early-90s design language of these iconic kicks. ‘Scream Green’ and ‘Royal Blue’ provide the neon highlights on an otherwise black and white scheme.
Based on Tinker Hatfield’s ‘less is more’ design vernacular, the Huarache concept was inspired by the neoprene booties in water skiing boots, the techno-minimalism on full display with nylon toe boxes, rubber heel cages, and leather overlays. Underneath, soft EVA foam midsoles with Air technology provide a super smooth ride.
Pairs of the Air Huarache ‘Scream Green’ have landed in some regions already, including Australia, and are expected to land Stateside via Nike and selected Swoosh stockists very soon. If a specific release date for the USA is officially announced, we’ll let you know.
