When he's not designing for his own brand 1017 ALYX 9SM, or creative directing the menswear division of major luxury house Givenchy, Matthew M Williams is collaborating with Nike. Their latest venture – dubbed the Zoom MMW 4 – has just been officially revealed, looking like it came from the year 2040.

The Nike Zoom MMW 4 was first spotted at the astonishing 2020 Nike Forum, where we got a first look at some of the biggest names in the Swoosh collaboration arsenal. Then, the man himself took to Instagram to give us a closer look at the upcoming venture. The official images have now arrived, and this is one serious statement shoe.

Taking a look at the major sole unit down below, it bears a resemblance to the famed ISPA Road Warrior that was inspired by Shox technology, and hit stores earlier this year. Boasting Pebax plates, forefoot Zoom Air units, and midfoot EVA foam cushioning, the extended heel, chrome detailing, and rugged waffle sole add to the aesthetic.

Nike’s ‘Bone White’ colour dominates this model, and has been cascaded over two different types of breathable mesh. A chromed-out plate lays on the lateral side, revealing the small black Swoosh detailing. MMW logos have been scattered throughout – including the toe box, tongue, heel, and insole.

Sadly, no release details have surfaced just yet, but we hear that this pair will be hitting retail stores towards the end of the year, or the beginning of next year. Stay tuned!
