The J23 App has surprisingly revealed a new colourway of the Nike SB Dunk Low: the ‘Court Purple’. At first sight, it appears that the basketball-turned-skate sneaker is indeed borrowing more palettes from its baller predecessors. A few months ago, there was a ‘Chicago’ SB Dunk that recalled the OG Air Jordan 1, and now the ‘Court Purple’ is in fact another colourway previously used on the AJ1. There are, of course, some minor variations that help distinguish this new SB Dunk from just a simple palette swap.

The majority of the upper uses alternating panels of black and white leather, while the wrapped heel counter takes on the namesake ‘Court Purple’. This accenting colour is actually absent elsewhere, save for the rubber outsole, insole fabric, and tongue lining. Interestingly, the heel tab, ankle collar, and ridged heel panel are tonally black – just like the ‘Chicago’ edition.

Being an upgraded skate version of the retro basketball shoe, these Dunks feature Zoom Air pods in the insoles’ heels, padded mesh tongues, and thick round laces. Features that will come in handy during skate sessions – assuming the shoes ever meet griptape.

There’s no word of a release date just yet, but the presence of these official images more or less confirms the ‘Court Purple’ will eventually drop.
