When it's all said and done, and duo of co-created takes on the may be some of 2022's most memorable sneakers. A potent-yet-poignant tribute to the late vision and legacy, these mid-cut have been teased since – an eternity by the sneaker industry's time standards – and after what seems like dozens of leaks and a healthy main course of speculation (plus a big ol' scoop of potential release dates for dessert) both pairs are finally set for a retail release.
Arriving in black and white colourways, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid plays with tone, texture and construction alike. Reaching deep into Abloh's signature bag of Off-White tricks, it features details like an extra set of anchored laces, Helvetica text branding, spiky, colourful midsoles, and, of course, a signature zip tie. There's plenty of new to be seen here as well though, thanks to a visible Air unit at the heel with Maison Mihara Yasuhiro-style melting details, a brand-new logo on the tongue and a striking collar strap. If the collection captured Abloh's eye for street elegance, this duo of Forces showcases his knack for pushing the boundaries of what a classic Nike sneaker can be.
