Off-White are Suing Over the use of Zip Ties and Quotation Marks
Off-White are taking legal action against bracelet manufacturers Rastaclat for the use of quotation marks and red zip ties.
According to a report by The Fashion Law, Rastaclat have been selling bracelets under the names 'Off-Clat' and/or 'Off-Clat c/o Rastaclat' at major retailers like Amazon. Despite not holding any official trademarks for the design, Virgil Abloh and his team at Off-White are arguing that they have rationale for a ‘significant common law trademark’.
Off-White are arguing that Rastaclat are confusing consumers ‘into believing that [they] are Off-White™ products, and as a result, it is asserting claims of trademark infringement, false designation of origin, and unfair competition’.
