NOBULL Just Attempted to Hire Ex-Nike Employees
One of the sneaker stories that has dominated the media headlines over the past six months has been . The global dismissals form part of a strategy by to save $2 billion over the coming years, and in the most recent development, it was unveiled that were individuals in leadership roles. Sneaker brands the world over are surely keeping a close eye on the Nike veterans being let go; however, one in particular is paying closer attention than others, and that’s NOBULL. The sportswear brand recently took to their socials to publicly convert ex-Team Swoosh employees to the NOBULL camp.
Based out of Boston, NOBULL was started by ex employees Marcus Wilson and Michael Schaffer. They started their company in 2015 and mostly had a focus on CrossFit, even sponsoring the CrossFit games between 2021 and 2023 (which Reebok previously sponsored). Recently though, NOBULL has moved away from their CrossFit focus and pivoted towards catering to gym-goers and casual runners. At the start of 2024, Tom Brady decided to merge his health and apparel brand with NOBULL, making the retired NFL star the brand’s second largest shareholder.
In their recent post to X, NOBULL has said: ‘We are so sorry about your recent news. At NOBULL, we believe adversity builds character: when you get knocked down, you get back up; when one door closes, another one opens – and our doors at NOBULL are always open’.
Interestingly, back in 2022 NOBULL fired 35 per cent of their staff, so is this an insincere social media publicity stunt or will there be a mass-hiring of Nike employees by NOBULL? Time will tell all.
