No Comply 2009

The No Comply exhibition (check out No Comply 2008 ) is back again to bring in the '09 with a banging roster of talent, launching on 20 March 2009 at the Red Bull Gallery in Sydney. Australia’s unique street and contemporary arts community has gained prominence over the last decade, being described by many as an international leader in street art and culture. The exhibition combines the established and emerging leaders of contemporary art into the biggest and most comprehensive collection of urban visual art on display in Australia. International guest artist KR (USA) will present an installation to kick the night off.

No Comply started as a small group show with an all-local line-up which over time has built a strong community. Today, it boasts over 170 individual pieces of art by over 60 local and international artists. No Comply has become an unprecedented world-class group exhibition featuring legends and emerging world leaders from the entire spectrum of contemporary art and street culture, using skateboards as their canvas. Multimedia, graphic novels, skateboarding, graffiti, street art, tattoos, animation and computer games are now more than ever respected parts of contemporary art. No Comply celebrates this fact.
