Nike's Breaking2 Runners Trial Zoom Vaporfly Elite Concept Shoe
The best marathon runners in the world have just trialed a never-before-seen colourway of concept shoe. Every bit of running know-how the Swoosh has accumulated over the years has been used on the three versions of the model. Though they look largely the same from the outside, the VaporFly Elites have been custom tailored to work with the unique gaits of Lelisa Desisa, Zersenay Tedese, and Eliud Kipchoge – who all tested the shoe in a half marathon time trial. Seeing running greats in action is exciting enough, but images also show them wearing a brand new make-up that features a stark upper and heroic big-bellied black Swoosh dipping into the midsole.
As part of Nike’s Breaking2 initiative, the shoes are intended to help the three runners clock an unprecedented marathon time of under two hours.
At this stage, the Zoom VaporFly Elite isn’t slated for public release – but it has informed that will hit stores on June 8.
