Nike Cook Up an ‘Oatmeal’ Zoom Vomero 5
The was ahead of the curve when it released back in 2010. While originally designed as a reliable runner, it was embraced at the back end of that decade when it was revived as a lifestyle model. This was right at the peak of the ‘Dad Shoe’ movement, but the model’s success can arguably be attributed to not actively playing into that trope. After briefly disappearing from Nike’s assortment, the Vomero is coming back.
Its lifestyle play continues with this upcoming ‘Oatmeal’ colourway, which is not a combination runners would’ve picked 12 years ago. This creamy blend is complemented with midsoles displaying faux vintage patina – a plausible addition given the Vomero’s age. The original tech mesh and synthetic upper is reprised and contrasted gently via light blue accents. And its original Zoom Air cushioning has also been retained, delivering a supremely smooth ride.
