This Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Looks Like a ‘Gundam’ Collaboration

Gundam has long been a favourite sneaker crossover with Nike and the latest Zoom Vomero 5 looks like it could have been an official collaboration. Over the years, many pairs have had the opportunity to take part in official collaborations with the famous Japanese franchise. Back in 2018, the Swoosh revived the mighty Gundam x Nike Air Max 98, with hype for the partnership reaching a fever pitch in 2021 when Nike SB announced their official collaboration with Gundam on a duo of SB Dunk Highs. Of course Nike aren’t the only sneaker brand getting in on the action. A number of other notable Gundam collaborations include Reebok on the Instapump Fury and the ASICS GEL-Saga too.

The latest entry into the ongoing narrative in 2023 this time technically isn’t an official collaboration; however, thanks to the makeup, it has been affectionately dubbed so. The latest Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has struck many as a ‘Gundam’ colourway, due to the curation of colours and the pre-scuffed outsoles. Making up the iteration is predominantly red and grey uppers, met with black Swooshes and subtle blue detailing.

A release date and further information on the pairs is yet to be announced; however, the arrival of official images means it won’t be far off.
