Who Will Be the Lucky Recipient of the Nike Zoom Freak 3 'Valentine’s Day'?
Mid February is always a stressful time for sneakerheads with significant others or those looking to have a special someone. Flowers and chocolate won’t cut it – only special kicks will do. Perhaps the ‘Valentine’s Day’ is the dose of material oxytocin that will kick off some tender times.
Unlike the brash , the Zoom Freak 3 is a subtler take on sneaker romance. The model is quite versatile – having been previously part of an UNO collaboration – and now, it’s playing the part of cupid. Like those ‘Brons, there’s a little swing tag of said fictional matchmaker, who again seems a bit more interested in getting some action going with basketball than the battlefield of love. This is also evident in the arrow-struck basketball motif on the tongue.
Besides these details, the colourway appears fairly unassuming as a lovey-dovey sneaker. There’s a nice teal running through the upper, meeting a yellow midsole. A third accent in peach shows up on the rear quarter, on what looks like sparks or fireworks. Perhaps the result of gifting these to the right sneakerhead, when things get freaky.
