You'll Never Run Out of Juice with the Nike Zoom Freak 3 'Low Battery'

'Low Battery' is a notification nobody wants to receive. Tangibly, it's your phone telling you you're in need of a charge. Mentally, it's your mind telling you you don't have much left in the tank. In the case of two-time NBA MVP and defending NBA Champion Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, it's the threat of low energy during crunch time. However, one of the many reasons Antetokounmpo is one of the league's best players is that he's able to dig deep when he's drained – and that fearless fighting spirit inspired the 'Low Battery' colourway of his Zoom Freak 3.

Antetokounmpo's third signature shoe with Nike, the Zoom Freak 3 features a low-cut construction for manoeuvrability, a forefoot strap for enhanced lockdown and two Zoom Air pods in the forefoot that provide responsive, explosive cushioning tuned for his high-flying game. On the 'Low Battery', the key detail appears on the left tongue: a nearly-drained battery icon in fuchsia and yellow. The rest of the shoe is mostly dressed in grey and yellow, though white midsoles and various fuchsia hits add some flair of their own as well.

‘Giannis works his foot like a gas and brake. He also works all different angles of his foot as he’s driving to the basket, so we wanted to contour the design to fit the way he transitions from step to step,’ said Ross Klein, Sr. Creative Director for Men’s Performance Footwear at Nike when the Zoom Freak 3 was first revealed.
