Update November 18, 2022: Ahead of the exhibition opening, the Architecture Instagram has given a sneaky preview of the upcoming Off-White x Nike Terra Forma!

It’s been over a year since Virgil Abloh tragically passed, and his presence still ripples through the zeitgeist. Now, Nike and VA Securities are looking to honour his legacy with a four-day experience at Miami Art Week.

‘Virgil and Nike thrived together because he understood the brand’s role as a cornerstone of culture while Nike understood the importance of truly supporting creatives and their visions,’ Shannon Abloh, the chief executive officer and managing director of Virgil Abloh Securities said in a press release. ‘This beautiful four-day experience at Miami Art Week will honor their legacy together and champion both Virgil’s open-source methods and his genuine commitment to collaborating with and inspiring others.’

Held at Miami’s Rubell Museum, this exhibition will pay homage to Abloh’s creative legacy. Dubbed Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture, it focuses on his design principles and process that can be translated to any medium or product. Nike will also continue to run collaborations with the Architecture platform, co-founded alongside Abloh, using these same processes. This exhibition will also include the debut of the Off-White x Nike Terra Forma, designed by Abloh and Nike designers in 2022. This sneaker will also be part of a wider Virgil-designed collection that will drop in the future.

‘Virgil’s influence was so outsized and impactful,’ says Serena Williams on Nike News. ‘Not only did he inspire and empower my approach as a designer and collaborator, he did so with every partner, product and person he touched.’

Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture will be open from December 1 and closes on December 4.
