Nike Resumes Selling The Self-Lacing HyperAdapt 1.0
After decades of pleading, Nike finally brought self-lacing sneakers to market in 2016 with the release of Back to the Future's iconic Mag and the all-new HyperAdapt 1.0 . While not everyone had a chance at sliding their feet into the insanely limited Mags, chances of copping the HyperAdapt were slightly better. There were just two caveats: one, that you had to front a $720 asking price and two, that you needed to live in New York City. Despite these stipulations, the high-tech low-tops still managed to sell out almost instantly, commanding thousands of dollars on the secondary market. If you were hoping to get your hands on a pair without fronting the exxy resale premium, then it looks like you're in luck – provided you live in Florida.
The Swoosh are set to launch Nike Miami this week – a massive two-story, multi-sport retail experience with 1:1 services for Nike+ members. In addition to running, basketball and soccer 'Trial Zones', allowing consumers to truly try before they buy, the store will also offer the HyperAdapt 1.0 exclusively to Nike+ users. Judging from in-store images, it appears that it will be the 'Metallic Silver/Black/White’ colourway available for purchase.
The HyperAdapt 1.0 will be sold at Nike Miami by appointment only. Log in through the Nike+ app to make a booking. Nike Miami is located at 1035 Lincoln Rd, Miami.
