Rumour: The Nike Mac Attack Is Set to Come Back!
In 2021, Travis Scott and LeBron James laced up the Nike Mac Attack, a tennis sneaker created for player John McEnroe. A cult classic silhouette, the Mac Attack has never been rereleased in its original form. That may be about to change, though, because rumours have just emerged of a 2023 retro. According to Complex, an inside source has informed them of the comeback and collaboration with retailer Social Status.
If this retro rumour is true, it makes sense that the Mac Attack was worn by two of Team Swoosh’s biggest ambassadors – a calculated marketing move on behalf of Nike. LeBron’s size 15 pair allegedly came from collector Jon Migdal, while Scott was apparently gifted his pair from LA’s Rif.
Debuting in 1984, the Mac Attack featured plenty of unique details, boasting a checkerboard tongue, mid-cut design and usually constructed of leather and mesh. No concrete information about the Nike Mac Attack retro has surfaced yet, but stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
