Update February 7, 2022: As expected, Nike have confirmed that the LeBron 9 'Big Bang' retro will release on February 18, coinciding with All-Star Weekend.
are bringing back ' famous to celebrate All-Star Weekend 2022 in Cleveland. Ahead of the forthcoming 'Big Bang' redux – the first time it's returned to the market since its debut in 2012 – official images have surfaced, showing off its familiar bright colours and intergalactic detailing.
The 'Big Bang' is coloured in orange and reddish-orange, a vibrant canvas for a wealth of both glow-in-the-dark and hi-vis reflective detailing. There's a NASA-inspired 'mission patch' on the tongue, plus a famed 'Galaxy' print on the collar lining and insoles. This cosmic theme was drawn from the Kennedy Space Centre in Orlando – the city that hosted the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, where the 'Big Bang' was debuted.
Widely regarded as one of the best Nike LeBron colourways ever, the 'Big Bang' was part of a pack created for that 2012 All-Star Game that included other classics like the , a and a KD 4. The NBA may have changed significantly in the decade since then, but LeBron is still one of its biggest stars!
At the time of writing, a release date for the Nike LeBron 9 'Big Bang' retro has yet to be announced, but all signs point towards it releasing during ASW, which is going down from February 18-20. Keep it locked to SF for more info as it's made available.
