The Nike LeBron 19 Headlines Huge ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Collection

Releasing in two colourways inspired by the Tune Squad – a bright orange, and a familiar blue and white – the LeBron 19 is packed with a double-chambered Air Max unit in the heel, and a revamped Zoom Air forefoot unit for improved underfoot performance compared to the lineup’s previous models. According to Nike Basketball footwear designer Jason Petrie, the new platform was inspired by the futuristic magic behind the movie.
‘In designing the LeBron 19, we were definitely guided by what was happening in the film,’ says Petrie. ‘We wanted to give LeBron a brand-new feeling that was synonymous with an otherworldly, space-age kind of look.’
Adding to the Space Jam: A New Legacy footwear collection is a series of split-colour Nike Lows inspired by the iconic Looney Tunes rivalries: Bugs vs. Marvin the Martian, Tweety Bird vs. Sylvester, and Road Runner vs. Wile. E. Coyote. Additionally, the much-talked-about will also feature.
For the Converse portion of the collection, there’s new , as well as a Low inspired by none other than Lola Bunny. As mentioned, in addition to the sneakers, the Space Jam: A New Legacy collection will include matching uniforms and apparel representing both the Tune Squad and the Goon Squad.
The Nike and Converse Space Jam: A New Legacy collection will be available from July via Nike, SNKRS, and at select retailers. Specific release details are yet to be revealed, so stay tuned!
