Kevin Durant and Nike are continuing their yearly tribute to Durant's late aunt Pearl by releasing the KD 14 in an 'Aunt Pearl' colourway. An initiative that's been in place since the 2012 release of the KD 4 'Aunt Pearl', each 'Aunt Pearl' model has featured a pink colour scheme and a wealth of special details, with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. 'I made a promise to myself to always honor my Aunt Pearl for the example she set, and the encouragement she gave me to follow my dreams,' Durant said in 2014.

This new 'Aunt Pearl' sneaker features abstract, swirling patterns on the forefoot and midfoot plus angel-wing inspired detailing on its heel. An Air Presto-inspired strap swoops across the top of the foot, and the tongues feature gold KD/Aunt Pearl logos on their outer half. On the inner half of the tongues there's even more gold detailing, namely the Kay Yow Cancer Fund's ribbon graphic and a text hit that reads 'In memory of Aunt Pearl, who inspired us all to continue the fight for a cure'. More special details can be seen on the insole, while the speckled, Zoom Air-filled midsole is split between two shades and a gum outsole finishes off the look.

Currently, there's no release date for the Nike KD 14 'Aunt Pearl'. When it does arrive, however, it'll be priced at $160.
