Today at Stade Charléty (not far from the runways), Kipyegon delivered a performance that redefined the limits of middle-distance running. Clocking 4:06.42 in the mile, she broke her own world record, reaffirming her status as the most decorated woman in the sport’s history.

The feat was part of her Breaking4 journey: a collaborative effort with Team Swoosh, her partner of 16 years, to push human performance further than ever before. Months of preparation went into the moment, with Nike designing made-for-speed apparel and footwear – like a futuristic Fly Suit, 3D-printed FlyWeb Bra, and featherweight custom spikes: all fine-tuned to meet the demands of a world-record run.
