There are already plenty of blue and white Nike Dunks on the market in both low- and high-cut variations, but the Swoosh see fit to add another pair into the mix. This upcoming ‘Racer Blue’ edition may bear many similarities to the ‘Kentucky’ OG that returned two years ago and restarted the Dunk craze, but this is a different release.
Suppose this is another reference to the university-inspired colourway. It would certainly seem in line with other college-coloured Dunks that are returning in UCLA and USC colours. Tertiary level basketball was an integral part of what kicked off the model in the first place, so that also helps the back story.
However, that origin tale is likely lost on newcomers to the shoe. It’s a presentable blue and white leather low top with nylon tongues, white laces and rubber soles. That’s all there is to it – not every sneaker needs a story behind it. They are also in Grade School sizing, meaning Nike are tapping more and more into the child (and smaller-footed women) demographic to capture a new and literally rapidly growing market.
There’s no release date yet for these GR GS Dunks but, with the way they’re still hype AF, they may well be a limited edition drop.
