Nike's chilly Dunk Low 'Ice' first popped up all the way back in September 2021, leading many sneaker lovers to speculate that it would be a Christmas release. Due to either supply chain issues or a missed opportunity, that wasn't the case – and the cool women's style is now set to release in 2022. Though an exact date has yet to be locked down, we now have an on-foot look at the festive Dunk Low design via @yankeekicks.
With all its furry embellishments, chilly shades and playful embroidered graphics, the 'Ice' looks a lot like one of Sean Cliver's collaborative sneakers – think the Sean Cliver x Nike SB Dunk Low 'Holiday Special' or the StrangeLove x Nike SB Dunk Low. However, though Cliver's fingerprints look like they were all over the design, he was not involved in the creation of the 'Ice'.
The shoe's upper is split between shimmering metallic silver leather and white velvet, with ornamentation arriving via cheerfully-embroidered graphics of kids playing in the snow – hiking, sledding or falling, in the case of the toebox detail! There's also a furry white material on the tongue, a set of climber-like flags pinned to the heel tab, a Japanese kanji graphic on the insole that translates to 'Ice' in English and snowflake prints on the outsole, among other details.
The Nike Dunk Low 'Ice' has yet to receive an official release date, though it's speculated to drop in February. Its MSRP is set at $110.
