When you've been pumping out as many styles of a single shoe as Nike has with the Dunk Low, you've got to remain innovative to retain your audience's attention. The Swoosh have satisfied the sportswear-loving masses with dozens of collegiate-themed Dunk colourways over the past few years, but they've also expanded the Dunk's horizons with makeups like the 'Prime Pink' and the 'Animal'. Now, they're heading to the jungle for a new Dunk Low that's dubbed the 'Cacao Wow' – and we've gotta admit, it's pretty sweet!
Seemingly drawing its nickname from the cacao tree, a small evergreen tree whose seeds are used to make a variety of chocolate products, the 'Cacao Wow' offers up an appropriate chocolate brown hue on its collar flaps and toebox. This is accented by a jungle-like mixture of olive green shades, while blue Swooshes and blue beaded details on the laces add further to the mix. The official inspiration has yet to be revealed, but it seems like a representation of the Ivory Coast jungles where cacao trees grow.
Also seen in the early images from @woganwodeyang and @ryivibes shown above is the shoe's unique material composition, which includes everything from tightly-woven mesh to hairy suede, rough-hewn canvas and tumbled leather – the last of which features plenty of exposed stitching!
At the time of writing, a release date for the Nike Dunk Low 'Cacao Wow' has yet to be announced. However, it's likely to drop in the coming months and will retail for $110.
