Update May 9, 2023: After months of waiting, this Nike Dunk High will release on May 9 via SNKRS. Originally thought to be inspired by Lunar New Year, we now know the release takes cues from the California Gold Rush.

Update October 24, 2022: @yankeekicks​ has shared an upcoming on-foot look at the forthcoming Nike Dunk High ‘Lunar New Year’! A release is still slated for January 2023.

Nike love a celebration! They recently celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, and back in June, it was Pride! Around the end of January, Team Swoosh always release a selection of kicks that pay homage to the Lunar New Year, and leaks have just come through of a 2023 iteration. Utilising the Dunk High, this is sure going to be one hyped Chinese New Year release.

The imagery from Private Selection shows a crisp dual-material build, incorporating leather underlays and suede overlays. Interestingly, the heel tab and Swoosh boast a hairy suede, perfectly complementing the rear heel graphic and icy blue midsole. The finishing touch comes through via the specialised gold tongue branding.

No release date has surfaced for the Nike Dunk High ‘Lunar New Year’, we’re confident they’ll arrive in January 2023.
