Nike Chop Up the Blazer Mid ‘Photo Blue’
Nike are freshening up the Blazer Mid for its 50th year in rotation by releasing it under the Remastered category while also making it sport an intriguing look. At a glance, this ‘Photo Blue’ colourway looks pretty by the book, but a closer look reveals more than meets the eye.
White and blue with a touch of neutral grey is par for the course for Blazers, so this pair chops it up in the literal sense by coring out a chunk of its lateral midsection. Here, leather is swapped for nylon mesh inserts, and the midsole wall extends well past its foxing strip, encroaching on the signature ‘fat belly’ Swoosh. This deviation adds some dramatic detail to an otherwise innocuous pair, which sees yellowed treatment on the midsole plus exposed foam on the tongues to create a faux vintage effect.
Expect to see this Blazer Mid at Nike retailers in coming months.
