This Nike Air VaporMax Plus Marks a Company Milestone
2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Blue Ribbon Sports switching over to the brand name, so expect some activity surrounding this milestone. Part of the celebrations is this upcoming , a model that has been a little quiet in the past couple of years. With its bright accents, it’s sure to divert some attention back.
The Air VaporMax Plus is a hybrid of sorts, using the still impressive VaporMax sole unit that debuted back in 2017, combined with an upper loosely inspired by the Air Max Plus – which explains the model name. Starting from the soles, this colourway opts for tonal teal shading its full-length Air units, creating an attractive translucent finish. The minimal outsole tread highlights and corresponding midsole plate are also similarly coloured to add some textural depth.
Moving up, the external ribbing, heel counters and toe caps are a lighter shade of pastel blue-green, which starkly contrasts against the completely white moulded upper. There are some additional splashes of colour on the yellow pull tabs and red Swoosh branding. On the topic of the aforementioned milestone, the insoles read ‘Nike Since 1972’.
Expect to see this Air VaporMax Plus at Nike retailers later this year. It’s likely there will be additional models in this pack.
