Nothing says 1990s hoops like Scottie Pippen’s larger-than-life Nike Air More Uptempo. Originally debuting on the hardwood in 1996, the sneaker quickly became a cult favourite among sneakerheads – particularly the all-black iteration that Pippen laced during the Chicago Bulls playoffs campaigns.

Since then, the sneaker has assumed pantheon status in the industry, team Swoosh continuing to emblazon the silhouette in throwback colourways and brand new iterations.

The latest model ready to land has received material overhaul, the Air More Uptempo ‘Phantom’ constructed in an eye-catching suede base. Utilising leather overlays, the colourway is composed of ‘Light Iron Ore’, ‘White’, ‘Sanddrift’ and its titular ‘Phantom’ palette. Down below, a two-tone rubber sole completes the design.

Look for the Nike Air More Uptempo ‘Phantom’ to release in the coming weeks at select retailers and Nike. The retail price is set at $160.

In the meantime, make sure to check out our interview with Euphoria’s costume designer Angelina Vitto, who breaks down the show’s epic sneaker game in season 2 (featuring Scottie Pippen’s mid-90s stomper)!
