Long before the Internet helped realise the global status of sneakers, there was the Nike Air Max Plus. Born in America (thanks Sean McDowell) in 1998 as the next evolution of Air Max technology for the new millennium, the high tech runner soon became embraced across the world for everything but jogging. From France to Frankston, the Air Max Plus, AKA TN, is still considered standard-issue for anything from raving to running of a different kind.
So, there’s gonna be a hot pink edition hitting the streets in the near future, but it doesn’t take away any of its toughness. Think of it as brass knuckles behind pompoms. All of the AMP’s distinct features are still here: ribbed TPU overlays, mesh vamps and glossy mudguards up top; underneath are heel and forefoot Tuned Air units with a solid arch insert between. Where this TN deviates is its lack of gradient on the upper and arch structure, but the very bright tonal pink colourway more than makes up for the lack of transition.
Keep an eye on the hot pink Nike Air Max Plus to pop up soon. It should be arriving by the end of the year – although there are a few delays about at the moment!
