Update November 29, 2023: As we enter 2024, the heat isn't slowing down anytime soon. The Nike Air Max CB 94 OG 'Old Royal' is set to return on January 9, 2023 via SNKRS and at select retailers for $170. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for any updates.

A mid-1990s hoops classic, Charles Barkley’s Nike Air Max CB 94 hit the hardwood in 1994. Appearing intermittently on shelves since its debut, the silhouette re-entered the zeitgeist in 2021, the bold aesthetics propelled culturally by shows like Euphoria (where it appeared on the feet of streetwear icon Fezco). Designed by Tracy Teague, the CB 94 was famously inspired by a straight jacket, an allusion to Barkley’s take-no-prisoners attitude.

The Nike Air Max CB 94 is now appearing in its classic ‘Old Royal’ edition, the black and titular hue striking the leather uppers. Featuring perforation for breathability, the model is given a material lift by black mesh tongues. Emboldened by a black rubber sole and a burst of ‘Old Royal’ on the forefoot, the CB 94 is replete with old school Air Max branding on the tongues.

Interestingly, the upcoming 2024 retail version bears the same style code (DD8557-100) as its 2021 counterpart.

The Nike Air Max CB 94 ‘Old Royal’ is currently expected to arrive in 2024 at Nike and select retailers.
