The Nike Air Max BW 'Sport Red' is Hot-Blooded
The party continues into 2022, following the triumphant return of its OG ‘Persian Violet’ colourway for its 30th anniversary last year. After sighting a on this catalogue combo, another option is coming that follows similar colour-blocking conventions. Known as the ‘Sport Red’, this certainly puts the ‘Classic’ in the model’s other moniker of Air Classic BW.
When the BW returned in 2021, Nike made sure to tweak some essential details to appease ardent Airheads. These changes included sharpening the toe rake slightly for a sleeker silhouette, and correcting the materials used on the upper. It appears these updates are permanent, as the new ‘Sport Red’ edition uses its mesh, microfibre and leather build to frame the padded textile on the tongue and ankle collar.
On the colourway front, these BWs effectively reverse the panelling of the OG colourway by using a predominately white base with black trimming on the mudguard. ‘Sport Red’ fits into the equation on the tongue and ankle collar, plus the large rubberised Swoosh. Plus, the midsole trim is shaded to match. Less obvious areas include the insole graphic and outsole arch.
Expect the Air Max BW ‘Sport Red’ to arrive at Nike retailers later this year.
