Nike by transforming the sneaker game with a slew of massive innovations. Perhaps the most important development of the year was the Nike Air Max – its visible cushioning system changed the way designers thought about midsole cushioning and would be used in countless Nike models in the future. The Nike Air Max itself would also go on to be updated regularly, with each new silhouette garnering masses of dedicated fans.
Nike AMs are popular the world over, but London has an undeniable affinity with the franchise - these 'trainers' are ubiquitous on the city streets on both men and women. Nike paid tribute to the city this year by releasing an , but they didn't stop there – London was also blessed with a belated Air Max 25th Anniversary party. Our man on the ground in London town, went along and captured some glorious photos of the Max madness – it looked like a damn fine time!
