The Nike Air Max 97 Waves the Italian Flag
This year there happens to be a bunch of very important sneaker anniversaries on the calendar to celebrate, from Nike to PUMA and of course, the Three Stripes! Among them are anniversaries a long time in the making, like the Air Force 1 for example, which is celebrating four decades around the sun. Then there's also the Air Max 97, the sleek model this year reaching a quarter of a century since it was first released.
Naturally, the AM97 is receiving a lot of birthday love! It recently joined the 'Sun Club', became equipped for the green with this golf-ready makeup, and still remains a hot topic around the rumour mill, with word suggesting epic bringbacks of OG colourways. The 'Gold Bullet' has now been rumoured to be making a return in 2023 and the highly coveted 'Silver Bullet' was allegedly due for a return this year... While that all still may be left to speculation, Nike look to be dropping another AM97 which also draws inspiration from precious metals and of course, says 'ciao' to its Italian connection – this latest gold-tinged bronze rendition featuring Italian flag-dressed heel and tongue tabs (as seen on previous AM97 GRs), plus cream midsoles!
The release date for the upcoming Nike Air Max 97 'Italy' is yet to be announced, but keep it locked to SF for all the details.
