Black and Silver Reach the Nike Air Max 97
Nike’s Air Max 97 has made an impression on the sneaker zeitgeist over the past few years after being resurrected for its 20th anniversary in 2017. Ever since, there has been a constant influx of easy-to-acquire colourways and limited collaborations. It’s become a fan-favourite GR for many and in 2022 is actually celebrating 25 years!
Originally releasing in 1997, this big bubbled model has seen a countless amount of iterations over its almost three decades on the planet with the most iconic being the ‘Silver Bullet’. While the legendary colourway hasn’t returned in 2022 yet, we’ve received plenty that pay homage to the OG. The most recent being the ‘White Bullet’, ‘Silver Metallic’ and now a black, silver and white joint affectionally dubbed the ‘Panda’.
The Nike Air Max 97 ‘Panda’ uses a similar blueprint to the ‘White Bullet’ colourway, boasting similar materials and colour-blocking. Looking for a durable build, Team Swoosh have plastered the base with ripstop fabric in stark white, allowing the blacked-out mudguards, liner, outsole and laces to pop. The highlight is the reflective additions added to the silver piping surrounding the outside and tongue. Down below, a translucent Air bubble is in place while on the heel and insole is the iconic scripted Air Max branding.
Another celebratory 25th anniversary Air Max 97 iteration is always a welcome sight! No release date has been scheduled for the ‘Panda’ as of yet but we suspect them to be dropping at your local sneaker spot sometime in the coming months.
