Nike are paying homage to the godfather behind the original Air technology, engineer Marion Franklin Rudy (aka Frank Rudy), honouring him with the latest Air Max 90.

Rudy’s patented Air innovation, technology that forever changed the footwear landscape, first appeared on the Nike Air Tailwind in 1978. Things were never the same, and the Air tech helped Nike float above the footwear competition over the ensuing decades.

Composed in ‘Summit White’, ‘Safety Orange’, and ‘Sesame’, the Nike Air Max 90 is manufactured in a classic mix of suede, leather and mesh materials. EST. 1990 appears on the lateral Air unit this time, while Franklin Rudy is emblazoned on the lace tips. Insoles featuring OG blueprints are also present.

Finally, an Air pressure hangtag completes the design.

Look for the Nike Air Max 90 ‘M. Frank Rudy’ to land over the coming weeks.
