Nike are not afraid of a gimmick, especially when it comes to the Air Max 1. At first glance, these white suede and leather kicks look pretty unassuming, but flick through the shots above and get smacked by those massive fluffy pom poms on the ends of the laces.
Why the Swoosh stuck these decorative blobs on a somewhat critical area of the shoe currently remains unknown, but it’s certainly a talking point. Elsewhere, the all-leather build is trimmed by suede, while a blue forefoot mini Swoosh is a nice touch. The outsole segments are split into differing shades of white, yellow, pink, and green, which is a detail not that common on AM1s these days. Other notable elements of this pair include fuzzy lining and embroidered circles on the heel, plus matching insole graphics.
Keep an eye out for these pom-pom-clad Air Max 1s to arrive at Nike retailers in coming weeks.
