To many, corduroy and sneakers may seem like unlikely friends, but in fact, the smooth, twill weave fabric has found a home on stacks of kicks, each time making for hot releases many snap up with the quickness. One of Nike’s favoured silhouettes to apply the fabric on is their Air Max range, often draping the Air Max 1 in the fabric – each time making for crisp and clean renditions and extending to the Air Max 97 and 98. Following up the recently released ‘Baltic Blue’ is this ‘Coral Stardust’.

Constructed with full coral corduroy uppers, the underlays and overlays have been dressed in a light coral shade of the velvety fabric, which includes matching laces too. This is then contrasted brightly with a more striking shade of the titular hue, as seen in the Swooshes and tongue branding. Hits of burgundy also build out the inners, along with the embroidered heel branding and outsoles. The design is balanced out with light cream outsoles.

The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Coral Stardust’ will arrive via select retailers on May 29. A Nike release date is locked for May 27.
