Nike Air Huarache Runner Comes in Slick 'Midnight Navy'
designed the line in 1991 after he was inspired by water skiing. He wanted to take the way the neoprene ski boots fit the foot and combine it with the functionality of South American sandals, which resulted in a model made with stretchy foot-hugging fabric and a heel cage. This classic design was modernised by Nike later on to create the Nike Air Huarache Runner, a version of Hatfield’s design that is up-to-date with modern performance. Already available in a range of neutrals, the Runner is now releasing in a slick ‘Midnight Navy’.
The upper is constructed of varying materials including leather, mesh and suede, all featured in rich shades of navy. The differing textures create depth, while the colour blocking keeps the runner looking streamlined. It’s not completely navy though, with the midsole coming in a crisp white and the outsole in ‘Gum’. The Swoosh is also highlighted in white, along with the branding on the heel, tongue and insole.
There’s no release date for the Nike Air Huarache Runner ‘Midnight Navy’ yet, but it’s expected to land soon for $140. Stay tuned.
