The Nike Air Huarache is continuing its return to form following its 30th anniversary last year and sees some previous wrongs rectified by reissuing more OG colourways with improved details. Up next is the ‘Resin’ edition, which is back again after a slew of disappointing remakes in the 2010s.
Nike’s adherence to original specs has been a bit spotty over the years, but they’ve redeemed themselves with the Air Huarache ever since its 2021 redo. The silhouette is now much sharper, the materials selected feel of higher quality, and all of the smaller details more accurately reproduced. The latter was a pitfall for the earlier remakes of the ‘Resin’, namely because of the solid black heel strap as opposed to the purple contrast strip. Thankfully, the 2022 version restores this small yet significant tidbit. Elsewhere, the emerald green and namesake ‘Resin’ yellow are nice and vibrant, and the white nylon and leather upper is crisp. The remainder of the shoe should be familiar to anyone that’s worn the Huarache – simply a comfortable sole and foot-hugging upper. And sneakerheads can now also leave the previous versions behind and cop this superior edition.
No release date has been set for the Nike Air Huarache ‘Resin’ just yet, but expect to see them again this year.
