Official Images: Nike Air Griffey Max 1 'Aqua'

Originally designed in 1996 for baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. and inspired by the cleats he wore on the baseball diamond, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 isn't looking to be benched anytime soon in 2022! If you're thinking that this 'Aqua' iteration looks familiar, that's because last year an alternate version of its sibling 'Fresh Water' colourway was released. And even more recently, official images of the ' Wheat' rendition appeared!

With this upcoming iteration, there's a lot more aqua (and a lot less black) than the previous design hitting the silhouette, a nod to the Seattle Mariners alternate uniforms. In terms of the shoe's construction, you'll find a white leather base with aqua nubuck overlays sitting atop, finished with black Swooshes and velcro ankle straps.
