London Calling: The Nike Air Force 1 Mid 'London' Is Loaded with Details!
Nike's beloved Air Force 1 is celebrating its 40th (!) anniversary this year, and part of the celebrations of four decades of Force are special Air Force 1 Mid styles with city-centric flair. We saw official images of an Air Force 1 Mid 'Paris' back in December, and now that Parisian pair is set to be joined by a style that pays homage to the Big Smoke: the Nike Air Force 1 Mid 'London'.
Split between burgundy and tan and seasoned with just a dash of white, this mid-cut Air Force 1 also supplies an interesting material composition. Its burgundy and white embellishments take on tumbled leather, but the tan pieces offer up a perforated, crinkled leather that adds an interesting alternate texture into the mix.
The city-centric details are supplied by two pieces, namely a bright red '020' hit on the lateral mudguard and a unique silver lace deubre. Each of these have special significance to London: '020' is a callout to its phone code – much like the '075' embellishment on the above-mentioned 'Paris' was – and the lace deubre is done up in the shape of the city's street signs.
We're currently without a release date for the Nike Air Force 1 Mid 'London', but you can expect it to drop in the coming months. Who knows? We may well see some other city-specific Forces in 2022 as well.
