It’s been a big year for the Nike Air Force 1, celebrating its 40th anniversary to much fanfare, with the brand’s ‘Colour of the Month’ festivities marking the milestone birthday. Nike’s ‘Colour of the Month’ is a concept invented in the mid-1980s by a group of Baltimore sneaker stores as a way to stop the AF-1 from being discontinued, where the iterations created had accent colours swapped out with each release.

So far, in 2022, a classic all-white pair has been released along with a handful of coloured, gum-soled pairs in red, blue and pink.

Of course, the year isn’t over yet, and there’s more to come! Up next is this tonal ‘University Blue’ pair, which features the colour of choice across the uppers, along with hits of white on the midsoles, laces and Swooshes. The tongue’s branding sticks to the theme and celebrates the ‘Colour of the Month’ with ‘Anniversary Edition’ stitching.

The pairs are all locked in to arrive early next month at Nike plus select retailers globally.
