Update March 30, 2022: Another tonal colourway of the Nike ACG Moc 3.5 has emerged, known as 'Hemp'. Peep the official shots above ahead of its eventual release.
In late 2019, Nike introduced the ACG Moc 3.0, a spiritual successor to the Air Moc with an emphasis on ease of wear and constant comfort. It looks like it’s going to be updated with the aptly named ACG Moc 3.5, which makes some small tweaks to the reliable model.
The 3.5 takes the silhouette of the 3.0 – itself loosely inspired by the Air Footscape from the mid 1990s – and modifies its quilted nylon upper slightly to be more of a square grid layout. More significantly is the update to the collapsible heel counter allowing easy on and off, which now is integrated with the back, rather than cut as a separate piece.
Underfoot, the midsole shape is still roughly the same, with its ergonomic shape following the lines of its Footscape DNA, and also retains the one-piece foam construction with oversized grid tread. This time however, the toe and heel rubber pads use Nike Grind to introduce a higher proportion of recycled materials as part of the brand’s overall shift to more conscious construction.
The Nike ACG Moc 3.5 is so far expected to arrive in black and bright orange colourways, and it’s likely this won’t be all that’s coming from the new model.
