Nike Are Bringing Back the ACG Air Moc in 2023

Update February 17, 2023: More colours of the Nike ACG Air Moc have surfaced! First appearing in canvas, you’ll also be able to cop them in ‘Ocean Bliss’ and ‘Anthracite’, which both feature dimpled uppers, lightly speckled midsoles and gridded outsoles. The is one of those IYKYK shoes. Not quite sneakers and not quite clogs, the unique slip-on design from the mid-1990s is due to make a return in 2023, sporting relatively OG looks. First off, the block is this clean beige and black edition that should make for a safe experiment for those new to the Moc.
The ACG Air Moc was introduced circa 1994 via the quirky mind of Tory Orzeck, who sought out a ‘pre- and post-activity’ shoe that looked deceptively simple but provided a reliable fit. While the resulting Moc may look like something of a hessian sack with a rubber sole slapped on it, the straightforward entry and cinch closure has helped the model gain a cult following. Don’t forget that this shoe does indeed have Air cushioning paired with a gridded outsole via important designer Steve McDonald.
In 2023, the ACG Air Moc is likely still going to catch some looks, but the proof is in the wearing. This incoming edition uses a canvas upper, neoprene lining and a lightly speckled outsole. The latter detail likely points to some recycled content in the mix, which is probably what the ACG team were aiming for 30 years ago.
